Sports Costa Del Sol
For Sports Costa del sol,
the Andalusia region has a huge verity of different facilities
available for the more sporting visitor, from skiing in the
Sierra Nevada to game fishing in the Mediterranean sea. For
those who like rock climbing the wide range of cliffs and
rock faces in the small white villages will keep those with
heads for height's well occupied. Other sports that are catered
for in the region things are golf, football, tennis, clay
pigeon shooting and gun clubs, fishing, ballooning, horse
riding & trekking, sailing, yacht clubs, scuba diving
and much much more.
Costa Del Sol Golf
Ranked No.1 golf destination
in Europe the Costa del golf which
has now become the new name for the region is the most visited
region for golfing holidays in Europe. Pre booking your tee
times is advised due to the huge amount of golfers living
and holidaying on the Costa del sol. The peak season for golf
is September to May because of the easy temperatures in the
winter and whilst the rest of Europe is fighting the traditional
winter blues. Golfers are advised to bring their latest score
cards and handicap certificate due to the fact some courses
may demand these before you play.
Sierra
Nevada
If lying on the beach all
day soaking in the sun on the Costa del sol with a glass of
white wine, some fresh bread and cheese doesn't appeal to
you, then why not take a trip the Sierra Nevada ski resort
in Granada. Spend the day skiing the Sierra mountain range
on the Costa del sol with nothing but a pair of ski trousers
and a tee shirt (Take Care with sun burn as the sun is very
strong at high altitudes even at 5 C). The Sierra Nevada ski
resort is located in the Granada province and will only take
2 hours drive from the city of Malaga or 2 hours and 30 minuets
from Estepona near Marbella Costa del sol. The resort has
over 45 ski runs and covers and impressive 62km of skiing
piste's. With such great facilities, the Sierra Nevada now
holds each year the FIS Downhill World Cup competitions including
the men's and women downhill and slalom races.
Ski hire rental services
in the region are plentiful, if you require ski hire make
sure you take your pass port or some sort of pictured ID as
the shop will retain this whilst you hire the skis. With a
great selection of hotels, lodgers, bed and breakfast accommodation
you can spend the night their and enjoy the local bar, restaurant's
and of course another days skiing. The
ski season starts in December till early May.
